Interpretation of transverse tune spectra in a heavy-ion synchrotron at high intensities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Two different tune measurement systems have been installed in the GSI heavy-ion synchrotron SIS-18. Tune spectra are obtained with high accuracy using these fast and sensitive systems.

Model of the Formation of a Fixed Charge in SiO2, Produced by Thermal Oxidation of Silicon

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2023
Solid-state recrystallization of the surface silicon layer after chemical and mechanical polishing with application of fast thermal treatment by pulses of one second duration is one of the feasible methods of improving the silicon surface properties. The

Intrinsic Metastabilities in the Charge Configuration of a Double Quantum Dot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We report a thermally activated metastability in a GaAs double quantum dot exhibiting real-time charge switching in diamond shaped regions of the charge stability diagram.

Charge exchange contribution to the decay of the ring current, measured by energetic neutral atoms (ENAs) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper we calculate the contribution of charge exchange to the decay of the ring current. Past works have suggested that charge exchange of ring current protons is primarily responsible for the decay of the ring current during the late recovery ...

Trade‐off between energy density and fast‐charge capability of lithium‐ion batteries: A model‐based design study of cells with thick electrodes

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, 2023
Lithium‐ion batteries exhibit a well‐known trade‐off between energy and power, which is problematic for electric vehicles which require both high energy during discharge (high driving range) and high power during charge (fast‐charge capability).

Fast head-tail instability with space charge

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 1998
The fast head-tail instability with space charge is studied using series expansion techniques, numerical simulations, and a new formulation which allows for precise estimates of growth rates and thresholds.

Fast geometric gate operation of superconducting charge qubits in circuit QED

open access: yes, 2011
A scheme for coupling superconducting charge qubits via a one-dimensional superconducting transmission line resonator is proposed. The qubits are working at their optimal points, where they are immune to the charge noise and possess long decoherence time.
