XFT: An Extension of the Discrete Fractional Fourier Transform [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
In recent years there has been a growing interest in the fractional Fourier transform driven by its large number of applications. The literature in this field follows two main routes. On the one hand, the areas where the ordinary Fourier transform has been applied are being revisited to use this intermediate time-frequency representation of signals ...

Electrically Induced Negative Differential Resistance States Mediated by Oxygen Octahedra Coupling in Manganites for Neuronal Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The negative differential resistance is exploited, using a La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 thin film network to demonstrate various neuronal functionalities of the human brain, such as leaky‐integrate‐fire and oscillatory patterns. Transmission electron microscope studies show local modification in oxygen octahedra in the network leads to co‐existing phases ...

The discrete Fourier transform: A canonical basis of eigenfunctions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
The discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is an important operator which acts on the Hilbert space of complex valued functions on the ring Z/NZ. In the case where N=p is an odd prime number, we exhibit a canonical basis of eigenvectors for the DFT. The transition matrix from the standard basis to the canonical basis defines a novel transform which we call ...

Enhanced Terahertz Spectroscopy of a Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An ad‐hoc engineered metallic surface is employed to perform enhanced terahertz spectroscopy of a monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD). Thanks to a local absorption boost of 104, this technique allows for the extraction of the phonon resonance features and effective permittivity of the 2D material, paving the way for the rational design of ...

Application of the Weil representation: diagonalization of the discrete Fourier transform [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
We survey a new application of the Weil representation to construct a canonical basis of eigenvectors for the discrete Fourier transform (DFT). The transition matrix from the standard basis to the canonical basis defines a novel transform which we call the discrete oscillator transform (DOT for short).

Non‐Enzymatic Destruction of the Extracellular Matrix for Activatable Orthotopic Tumor Treatment and Enhanced Drug Penetration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Supramolecular biomimetic nanoaggregates (HFCu NAs), constructed with fluorinated histidine and copper ions via metal coordination and aromatic packing, exhibit enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS)generation at tumor sites, which results in stepwise collapse of the extracellular matrix (ECM), affording tumor microenvironment responsive “turn‐on” 19F ...

Fast generalized Fourier transforms

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1989
AbstractLet G be a f inite group. Then Ls(G), the linear complexity of a suitable Wedderburn transform corresponding to G, is smaller than 2·|G|2. We improve this trivial upper bound by showing that Ls(G) is smaller than min{(s(T)−l(T))·|G|+7q(T)·|G|32, where the minimum is taken over all towers T=(Gn>Gn−1>⋯>G0={1}) of subgroups of G=Gn, and where q(T)

Interfacial Contact Engineering Enables Giant‐Performance Semiconductor Nanomembrane Optoelectronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates modifying interfacial contacts in realizing giant‐performance semiconductor nanomembrane optoelectronics. Strategies, including surface reaction and buffer layer work‐function modulation, are explored to boost the Schottky barrier. An emerging material of YbOx is utilized for near‐ideal Ohmic contact.
