Given the rapid increase in inverter-based distributed generators (IBDGs), their response and subsequent impacts on power system stability during abnormal power system conditions are becoming important. Recent events have shown that an unexpected loss of

Fast Graphic Visualization of Frequency Response for Audio Equalizer
This paper proposes a new method for fast graphic visualization of accurate frequency response of audio equalizer (EQ). When a logarithmic frequency scale is used, a frequency response in high resolution is required for accurate low-band frequency response.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A Unified Analytical Method to Quantify Three Types of Fast Frequency Response from Inverter-based Resources [PDF]
With more inverter-based resources (IBRs), our power systems have lower frequency nadirs following N-1 contingencies, and undesired under-frequency load shedding (UFLS) can occur.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Evaluation of coated QCM for the detection of atmospheric ozone [PDF]
A coated acoustic wave sensor has been developed to selectively detect atmospheric ozone. The selective detection has been assessed using a variety of coatings: beeswax, gallic acid, indigo carmine, polybutadiene, potassium iodide and sodium nitrite ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Power meter for Highly-Distorted Three-Phase Systems [PDF]
This paper describes a low-cost, three-phase power meter, which is based on a fast, specially designed acquisition board coupled to a PC via the PC parallel/printer port or by means of an AT card.
