Fast Iris Localization Based on Improved Hough Transform

2010
Iris is a new biometric emerging in recent years. Iris identification is gradually applied to a number of important areas because of its simplicity, fast identification and low error recognition rate. Typically, an iris recognition system includes four parts: iris localization, feature extraction, coding and recognition.

Fast lane detection with Randomized Hough Transform

2008 International Symposium on Information Technology, 2008
Lane detection is an essential component of autonomous mobile robot applications. Any lane detection method has to deal with the varying conditions of the lane and surrounding that the robot would encounter while moving. Lane detection procedure can provide estimates for the position and orientation of the robot within the lane and also can provide a ...

A FAST RULE-BASED PARAMETER FREE DISCRETE HOUGH TRANSFORM

International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 1999
This paper introduces a new discrete Hough transform, DHT, that pre-computes discrete line information (rules) and uses this information to detect line segments in the image. Pre-computing line information removes the need for run-time line calculations and the associated parameters.

Fast Circle Detection Using Spatial Decomposition of Hough Transform

International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 2017
Circles are important patterns in many automatic image inspection applications. The Hough Transform (HT) is a popular method for extracting shapes from original images. It was first introduced for the recognition of straight lines, and later extended to circles.

A fast hough transform based on C3TR using shift operation

2015 21st Korea-Japan Joint Workshop on Frontiers of Computer Vision (FCV), 2015
The Hough transform is an important scheme for providing a robust pattern recognition due to the global potential for extracting lines from an image. In order to realize the faster Hough transform, it is the most essential to reduce the cost in both trigonometric function and multiplication calculations. This paper proposes a fast line detection method

Fast Ellipse Detection Algorithm Using Hough Transform on the GPU

2011 Second International Conference on Networking and Computing, 2011
GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) are specialized microprocessors that accelerate 3D or 2D graphics operations. Recent GPUs, which have many processing units connected with a global memory, can be used for general purpose parallel computation. To utilize the powerful computing ability, GPUs are widely used for general purpose computing. The main purpose

A fast iris localization using inversion transform and restricted circular Hough transform

2015 Eighth International Conference on Advances in Pattern Recognition (ICAPR), 2015
This paper presents a fast segmentation of iris portion from an eye image in an iris recognition system. In iris segmentation, we have to find the inner boundary (between pupil and iris) and outer boundary (between sclera and iris). To find the inner boundary a restricted circular Hough transform based method is applied.

Object recognition using fast adaptive Hough transform

Conference Proceeding IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and Signal Processing, 2003
A fast adaptive Hough transform (FAHT) approach is developed for detecting shapes which can be characterized by two parameters. This class of shapes includes both linear and circular image features. The method is based on identifying linear and circular segments in images by searching for clusters of evidence in two-dimensional parameter spaces.

Fast algorithm and application of Hough transform in iris segmentation

Proceedings of 2004 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (IEEE Cat. No.04EX826), 2005
Hough transform is a common algorithm used to detect geometry shape of objects in computer image processing, some points satisfied lines, circles and other curves can be detected easily by using Hough transform in image. In iris recognition system, both the inner boundary and the outer boundary of a typical iris can approximately be taken as circles ...
