A Fast Multipole Method for axisymmetric domains
The Fast Multipole Method (FMM) for the Poisson equation is extended to the case of non-axisymmetric problems in an axisymmetric domain, described by cylindrical coordinates. The method is based on a Fourier decomposition of the source into a modal expansion and the evaluation of the corresponding modes of the field using a two-dimensional tree ...

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

Data‐driven execution of fast multipole methods [PDF]
SUMMARYFast multipole methods (FMMs) havecomplexity, are compute bound, and require very little synchronization, which makes them a favorable algorithm on next‐generation supercomputers. Their most common application is to accelerateN‐body problems, but they can also be used to solve boundary integral equations.

A microfluidic device with magnetic microposts was used to assess platelet mechanobiology. The oscillatory actuation of posts with embedded iron particles was dampened by the dynamic stiffening of the platelet‐rich plugs. This stiffening process increased with applied load, but inhibiting platelet activation (ASA) or myosin contractility (blebbistatin)

On the Application of the Incomplete QR Algorithm to the Analysis of Microstrip Antennas [PDF]
In this paper, we provide some insight into the usage of fast, iterative, method-of-moments (MoM) solution of integral equations (IE) describing antennas and other metallic structures immersed in a planar multilayered environment.

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

The new Cu‐containing MOF (Me2NH2)(CuICl2)@[Cu4(INA)4Cl2O]·1.5dmf (3) contains a cation and an anion as guests and shows UV‐near‐mid‐IR absorption and near‐IR emission. MOF 3 shows gas‐solid reactivity in the presence of NH3 and HCOOH to yield two new 3D MOF.
