Generative Models for Crystalline Materials
Generative machine learning models are increasingly used in crystalline materials design. This review outlines major generative approaches and assesses their strengths and limitations. It also examines how generative models can be adapted to practical applications, discusses key experimental considerations for evaluating generated structures, and ...

As a rule materials of small atomic weight (light and heavy water, graphite, and so on) are used as neutron moderators and reflectors. A new very heavy atomic weight moderator is proposed—radiogenic lead consisting mainly of isotope 208Pb.

Pressurized gases reduce interfacial tension (IFT) at the gas‐liquid interfaces, their influence on the liquid–liquid interfaces remains unclear. For model compounds methane, water, and p‐xylene, neutron imaging observation of pressurized three‐phase systems is combined with Molecular Dynamics simulations.

Photon strength in spherical and deformed heavy nuclei
Information on the photon strength in heavy nuclei with mass A > 150 will be given and compared to respective data. The photon strength function is a very important ingredient for statistical model calculations – especially when these are used to ...

Using femtosecond ablation, we show that an ordered, stoichiometric crystalline PdSe2 target can be controllably converted into a stable, disordered, non‐stoichiometric, and highly functional amorphous nanomaterial, PdSe2−x${\rm PdSe}_{2-x}$. The obtained nanoparticles offer significant advantages over conventional planar plasmon‐free substrates due to

Optical Manipulation of Multiferroic Phases in BiFeO3 Thin Films
At the strain‐driven morphotropic phase boundary, optical control over the multiferroic rhombohedral and tetragonal phase mixture is demonstrated using above‐bandgap light illumination. The photoinduced charge carriers modify the electrostatic environment and induce the conversion into a single tetragonal phase.
