A Fast Fullchip Transient Response Estimation Technique
2011Circuit Simulation has long been a dependable technique for design engineers for functional testing before a circuit is taken to silicon. But as we move into deep sub-micron technologies, chips are becoming more complex and denser. The dense power grid adds to long simulation runtime rendering fullchip simulations difficult and computationally ...

TRANSIENT RESPONSE OF FAST ACTING SOLENOIDS IN AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS
Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 1994The dynamic response of small solenoid-operated injectors employed for discharging the high-pressure gaseous fuel in diesel engines must be precisely controlled down to a few tenths of a millisecond. This paper shows how a simple but effective switching circuit can control the generation of the solenoid force to meet the stringent timing requirements ...

Response of power cables to fast transient loads
Conference Record of the 2004 IEEE Industry Applications Conference, 2004. 39th IAS Annual Meeting., 2004The most accepted standards for ampacity of power cables consider only steady-state loads. In "Cable Sizing for Fast Transient Loads," R.E. Henry, the transient temperature response of cables is addressed when installed in tray and conduits and undergoing fast transient heating. Herein, the fast transient work is extended by presenting how power cables

A Fast Transient Response Single Phase Active Power Filter
TENCON 2005 - 2005 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2005In this paper a fast dynamic response single phase active power filter is proposed. The method proposed, compensates the non-linear load by improving the power factor to the desired value and also eliminates the harmonics. The scheme is shown to work for both types compensation i.e.

Low profile coupled inductor substrate with fast transient response
2015 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2015The alloy flake composite magnetic material has been justified to be compatible with the conventional PCB manufacturing process. By embedding the layerwise core into multilayer PCB, a single-phase 3D integrated POL module achieves 700W/in3 power density and more than 85% efficiency.

Fast response DC/DC converter with transient suppression circuit
2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006This paper presents a novel scheme to improve the transient response of a DC/DC converter. Traditionally, a large output capacitor is used in the output of a DC/DC converter to improve transient response. However, it is costly, heavy and bulky. In this paper, the transient response of DC/DC converter can be improved by adding a coupled inductor and an ...

A Linear Robust State Estimator with Fast Transient Response
1986 American Control Conference, 1986A new recursive linear filter is considered for the estimation of the unknown states of a dynamic system. In general, this new filter has fast convergence rate and lower RMS error than the conventional Kalman filter during the transient phase. It becomes a Wiener filter as time increases.

Transient response of fast digital PID control switching power supply
2012 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2012The purpose of this paper is to present the transient response in the proposed digitally controlled dc-dc converter under the various changes. The digital PID control circuit has a delay time mainly due to the calculation and sampling. This delay time heavily affects the transient responses.

Fast Transient Response Fuel Cell – Battery Hybrid Power Source
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1969<div class="htmlview paragraph">The integration of a molten carbonate fuel cell with a molten electrolyte battery both electrically and thermally produces a highly efficient power source with a fast transient response. Since most practical high pulse applications utilize electronic chopping circuits, microsecond and millisecond response ...
