Pre-clinical Microbiology — Fastidious Gram-negative Bacteria
2000The in-vitro activity of moxifloxacin against a group of fastidious bacterial pathogens was reviewed. Reports from different countries (USA, UK, Germany) were included. The activity (MIC) of moxifloxacin was compared to four other fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, trovafloxacin, levofloxacin, grepafloxacin).

ATYPICAL LEGIONELLA-LIKE ORGANISMS: FASTIDIOUS WATER-ASSOCIATED BACTERIA PATHOGENIC FOR MAN
The Lancet, 1979A group of related bacteria designated atypical Legionella-like organisms (ALLO) has been identified. ALLO, like L. pneumophila, are fastidious gram-negative rods that grow well on charcoal yeast extract (CYE) agar and produce ground glass colonies and browning of modified yeast extract agar. Unlike L.

Fastidious Bacteria of Plant Vascular Tissues and Their Invertebrate Vectors
1992Prokaryotes have been recognized as plant pathogens since the pioneering research of Burrill (1881). However, the concept that these pathogens include noncultivable or extremely fastidious prokaryotes developed recently, following the discovery by Doi et al. (1967) and Ishie et al.

Strategies for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of fastidious aerobic bacteria.
The American journal of medical technology, 1984There are several "non-standardized" test methodologies for performing antimicrobial susceptibility tests on clinical isolates of fastidious aerobic organisms. Critical to the interpretation of a susceptibility test (or any clinical laboratory test) is correlation of the results with the clinical status of the patient.
