In November, 2007, early afternoon, a 17-year-old unconscious male patient was admitted to our paediatric emergency department. Third-party history from his co-workers and company physician revealed that the young man collapsed suddenly without any obvious triggers while standing at his workbench in a metal processing factory.

We present a randomized subexponential time, polynomial space parameterized algorithm for the k -Weighted Feedback Arc Set in Tournaments (k -FAST ) problem. We also show that our algorithm can be derandomized by slightly increasing the running time.

Abstract. Three patients are presented with T‐wave inversion after food intake. In all cases the ECG was normal in fasting condition and after exercise. Abnormal T‐waves are found during digitalis treatment, in electrolyte disturbances, and also during anxiety.

Current Pain and Headache Reports, 2010
Headache is a common disorder in the general population. Fasting headache is coded to Group 10 of the second edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders ("Headache attributed to disorder of homeostasis"). A study conducted in Denmark's general population found a lifetime prevalence rate of 4.1% for fasting headache.

Gradient-echo pulse sequences are a valuable adjunct to the standard spin-echo sequences used for MR imaging of the brain and spine. Gradient-echo techniques enhance the signal of flowing fluids and increase the conspicuity of vascular lesions. They also increase the sensitivity of MR for chronic hemorrhage and calcification.

Blunt abdominal trauma is common in pediatric trauma. This chapter discusses a child who presents to the emergency department with left upper quadrant pain after being struck by a motor vehicle. The point-of-care focused assessment with sonography for trauma (FAST) examination provides quick, reliable information on bleeding into the peritoneal ...

A number of schemes for implementing a fast multiplier are presented and compared on the basis of speed, complexity, and cost. A parallel multiplier designed using the carry-save scheme and constructed from 74 series integrated circuits is described. This multiplier multiplies 10-bit by 12-bit binary numbers with a worst- case multiplication time of ...
