The Fat Pad in Dermis Fat Grafts
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 1994Dermis fat grafts are used in orbital reconstruction in a variety of procedures. However, there have been few controlled studies testing their effectiveness. This is a prospective study on 40 patients.Primary and secondary orbital dermis fat grafts were evaluated with regard to the long-term cosmetic results of two thicknesses, 10 and 20 mm, of fat pad,

According to the author, buccal fat pad removal is a minor procedure that adds relative prominence to the cheek area. For optimal results, he suggests augmenting the malar area with hydroxylapatite granules. Here, he describes his technique. (Aesthetic Surg J 2003;23:484-485.).

Post-Levator Aponeurosis Fat Pad
Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2016The aim of this study was to examine the superoinferior extension of the post-levator aponeurosis fat pad in the upper eyelids of Japanese cadavers. Twenty-six upper eyelids (12 right and 14 left) from 15 Japanese cadavers (6 men and 9 women; average age at death, 82.1 years) were used in this experimental anatomical study.

The infrapatellar fat pad of Hoffa is commonly injured but rarely discussed in the radiological literature. Abnormalities within it most commonly are the consequences of trauma and degeneration, but inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the synovium can be confined to the fat pad.

It is generally recognized that on a chest roentgenogram the pericardial fat pad often produces a shadow at the left apical border of the heart (3). It was our good fortune to observe two interesting autopsies on extremely obese white males. Upon opening the thoracic cage it was noted that the pericardial fat was markedly increased (Fig. 1).

Journal of Mammary Gland Biology and Neoplasia, 1998
The mammary fat pad is essential for development of the mammary epithelium, providing signals that mediate ductal morphogenesis and, probably, alveolar differentiation. The "cleared" fat pad is often used as a transplantation site. Considering the crucial role of the fat pad, its properties have received relatively little attention from researchers in ...

The treatment of scarring of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel following open carpal tunnel release, trauma,or infection presents the hand surgeon with a difficult problem, since adhesions between the nerve and scar tissue in the tunnel impair its longitudinal mobility.Measured in specimens, this amounts to between 7 and 14 mm in a longitudinal ...
