Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.

Accelerated fatigue crack growth behavior of PWA 1480 single crystal alloy and its dependence on the deformation mode [PDF]
An investigation of the fatigue crack growth (FCG) behavior of PWA 1480 single crystal nickel base superalloy was conducted. Typical Paris region behavior was observed above a delta K of 8 MPa sq rt of m.

This study shows that integrin receptor CD49a (Itga1 gene) is significantly upregulated in hyperactivated microglia and microglia‐specific knockdown of Itga1 rescues neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration in a chronic Parkinson's disease (PD) model by targeting PGAM5‐mediated mitochondrial dysfunction and NLRP3 activation. Targeted inhibition of CD49a

An Elastocaloric Polymer with Ultra‐High Solid‐State Cooling via Defect Engineering
This work reports a defect‐engineering strategy that enables a record‐high adiabatic temperature change of up to 8.14 ± 1.76 °C in elastomers at an elevated temperature above 65 °C. Combined experimental and theoretical efforts reveal that increasing dangling‐chain defects nonmonotonically impacts the elastocaloric cooling performance of polymers due ...
