Multiaxial Fatigue Damage Criterion
Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 1988A multiaxial fatigue failure criterion is proposed based on the strain energy density damage law. The proposed criterion is hydrostatic pressure sensitive; includes the effect of the mean stress, and applies to materials which do not obey the idealized Masing type description.

Dissipation and fatigue damage
Materials Testing, 2004Abstract The discussion of fatigue damage is generally separated in two domains: Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) and High Cycle Fatigue (HCF). The transition zone concerns the case of limited endurance, while the unlimited endurance is generally assimilated with HCF.

Abstract This chapter addresses the cumulative effects of fatigue and how to determine its impact on component lifetime and performance. It begins by defining a loading history and its corresponding hysteresis loops that exposes the deficiencies of some of the theories discussed.

Collagenous tissues can, inevitably, be damaged and broken by overload, but they are also susceptible to the prolonged application of a lesser load. The majority of studies are for bone with tendon in the second place. This chapter therefore concentrates on these tissues.

Multiaxial Fatigue Damage Models
Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 1987Two multiaxial fatigue damage models are proposed: a shear strain model for failures that are primarily mode II crack growth and a tensile strain model for failures that are primarily mode I crack growth. The failure mode is shown to be dependent on material, strain range and hydrostatic stress state.

PurposeComposite materials are increasingly used in the structural and mechanical fields, thanks to their high strength‐to‐weight ratios and the possibility of tailoring them to meet specific requirements. This study is focused on the damage to a glass fiber reinforced composite under different loading conditions.

Cyclic flexural load tests of simply supported beams under central concentrated charge were performed, for two different concrete Young modulus. The strain at the most tensioned fiber was measured during experiments. A model for cumulative damage which is proportional to the strain was used to present the results.
