Heliostat Fatigue Loads

open access: yesSolarPACES Conference Proceedings
An approach to estimate the wind load spectra for heliostats is proposed. It is based on the wind-induced fatigue cycle counts for buildings given by the Eurocode EN 1991 and considers heliostat specific impact factors. The approach can be further refined if data on specific wind and heliostat field properties are available.

Including Lifetime Hydraulic Turbine Cost into Short-Term Hybrid Scheduling of Hydro and Solar

open access: yesEnergies
In traditional short-term hydropower scheduling problems, which usually determine the optimal power generation schedules within one week, the off-design zone of a hydraulic turbine is modeled as a forbidden zone due to the significantly increased risk of

Proposal of an evaluation method of equivalent fatigue load for small wind turbine blade

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
This study is carried out for the purpose of collecting data that is based on the evaluation of the equivalent fatigue load for a small wind turbine. The equivalent fatigue load is indicated as the method of designing load calculation in IEC 61400-2 ed.2

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...

Study on Bond Anchorage Behavior of Small-Diameter Rebar Planting under Medium and Low Cycle Fatigue Loads

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In this paper, we describe how, through the combination of field testing and finite element simulation, the bonding and anchoring performance of small-diameter rebar under the action of medium and low cycle fatigue load was studied and the corresponding ...

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Numerical Study of the Effect of Unsteady Aerodynamic Forces on the Fatigue Load of Yawed Wind Turbines

open access: yesMachines
The intentional yaw offset of wind turbines has shown potential to redirect wakes, enhancing overall plant power production, but it may increase fatigue loading on turbine components.

Remote Monitoring in Myasthenia Gravis: Exploring Symptom Variability

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare, autoimmune disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness and potential life‐threatening crises. While continuous specialized care is essential, access barriers often delay timely interventions. To address this, we developed MyaLink, a telemedical platform for MG patients.

Fatigue Load Analysis of Yawed Wind Turbines Considering Geometric Nonlinearity of Blades

open access: yesEnergies
Fatigue damage of yawed wind turbine components can be caused by repeated long-term unsteady asymmetric inflow loads across the rotor swept area, necessitating fatigue load analysis to ensure the in-operation safety of wind turbines.

Changes in the flexion relaxation response induced by lumbar muscle fatigue

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2008
Background The flexion relaxation phenomenon (FRP) is an interesting model to study the modulation of lumbar stability. Previous investigations have explored the effect of load, angular velocity and posture on this particular response.
