Research on the Durability of the Splints of Lower Limbs

open access: yesMokslas: Lietuvos Ateitis, 2012
The paper presents research on the durability of the splint of the ankle joint and suggests a solution to the raised problem of the fatigue behaviour of the splint of the ankle joint. With the help of computer aided modelling and SolidWorks software, the

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Comparison of fatigue performance of HVOF spray coated and conventional roll bonded aluminium bearing alloys

open access: yes, 2009
A comparative study on fatigue resistance of thin aluminium bearing linings (supported by harder backing steel layers) produced by high velocity oxyfuel (HVOF) spray coating and conventional roll bonding (RB) processes has shown that the former is ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Productivity‐Driven Optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Parameters for IN718 Superalloy: Process Control, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Novel methods for fatigue data editing for horizontal axis wind turbine blades

open access: yes
Wind turbine blades are the most critical components of wind turbines. Full-scale blade fatigue testing is required to verify that the blades possess the strength and service life specified in the design.

Fatigue life of wheels regarding design and test constraints

open access: yes
299310Wheels both for passenger cars and commercial vehicles are one of the most safety critical parts on vehicles. Knowing this, in the 1970’s automotive industry started to rethink the design and also the lifetime assessment of wheels with respect to ...
