Fault Location with Current Monitoring

1991, Proceedings. International Test Conference, 2005
Recently there has been renewed interest in fault detection in static CMOS circuits through current monitoring (“Iddq testing”). It is shown that accurate defect (diagnosis miay be performed with a combination of current and voltage observations. The proposed system combines a simple single fault model for test generation with a more realistic multiple

IGBT Fault Current Limiting Circuit

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 1995
Circuits are proposed which, by limiting the fault current magnitude, extends the short-circuit withstand time of high-efficiency (high-gain) IGBTs (insulated-gate bipolar transistors). Limiting of the fault current magnitude also results in reduced turn-off voltage transients, a desirable byproduct, especially for higher current modules. Moreover, the

Optimal Allocation of Distributed Generation With Optimal Sizing of Fault Current Limiter to Reduce the Impact on Distribution Networks Using NSGA-II

IEEE Systems Journal, 2019
Nowadays, the presence of distributed generation (DG) units in the distribution network is increasing due to their advantages. As well as these advantages, there are some problems, such as increasing the level of short circuits in buses and disturbing ...

Application and Design of a Resistive-Type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter for Efficient Protection of a DC Microgrid

IEEE transactions on applied superconductivity, 2019
Regarding a dc microgrid integrated with wind, photovoltaic generators, and energy storage, this paper suggests a resistive-type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) to protect it from short-circuit fault.

The Enhanced DC Fault Current Calculation Method of MMC-HVDC Grid With FCLs

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2019
This paper introduces an enhanced dc fault current calculation method for modular multilevel converter-based high-voltage dc (HVdc) grid. The new method considers the fast switching of the fault current limiters (FCLs) and the nonlinear characteristics ...

Analysis of Current for Fault- Tolerant Control of Excitation Fault in DSEG

IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018
Doubly salient electromagnetic generator (DSEG)is a new type of high reliability DC generator. This paper gives a brief introduction to the fault-tolerant control strategy for the excitation fault of DSEG, once the fault of excitation part occurs, the energy storage capacitor on the load side acts as excitation power and directly provides excitation ...

Fault current contribution of DFIG under unsymmetrical fault

2011 4th International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation and Restructuring and Power Technologies (DRPT), 2011
In this paper, the transient characteristics of double-fed induction generator (DFIG) are analyzed. Based on this, the fault current contribution of DFIG with and without crowbar are compared. Comparison result shows that fault current of DFIG under different ride-through conditions differs widely from each other.

Fault Current Hierarchical Limitation Strategy for Fault Ride-Through Scheme of Microgrid

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2019
With the growing penetration of grid-connected microgrids (MGs), utility grid (UG) faces the challenge of high-level fault current during fault ride-through (FRT) of MGs.
