Analysis of the fault current limiting requirement and design of the bridge‐type FCL in the multi‐terminal DC grid

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2018
In the multi‐terminal flexible dc grid, it is important for the healthy network to ride through the dc fault. The converters should operate continuously after dc faults, staying unblocked. But the existing selective protection and isolation method may fail to react swiftly enough, because the propagation speed of the dc fault current is extremely fast.

Redefining Optimal Coverage Path Planning for FLS‐Equipped AUVs With Deep Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) have emerged as indispensable tools for a variety of subsea tasks, from habitat monitoring and seabed mapping to infrastructure inspection and mine countermeasures. A fundamental challenge in this field is Coverage Path Planning (CPP), the problem of ensuring complete and efficient area coverage.

Discriminant validity and interrelations of conceptual and procedural knowledge in fractions and algebra: Evidence from confirmatory factor analysis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Conceptual and procedural knowledge are two distinct types of mathematical knowledge. Measuring them with sufficient discriminant validity is challenging because they are typically highly correlated. Prior studies have demonstrated discriminant validity of paper‐and‐pencil measures separately for fractions and algebra.

Control Strategies for a Power Electronic Based Fault Current Limiter (FCL) in No-Fault Operation

open access: yesRE&PQJ
Fault current limiters (FCL) in electrical power systems offer the opportunity to reduce short-circuit stresses to the system in the case of faults. But as electrical power systems are normally operated without faults most of the time, FCLs must not have negative effects during these periods of normal operation.

Reversal of economic integration: evidence from European Union enlargement

open access: yesThe Scandinavian Journal of Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Empirical models of trade agreements implicitly assume that withdrawal from a trade agreement has an equal and opposite trade effect as accession (i.e., symmetry). With increasing opposition to international economic cooperation, it becomes urgent to test this assumption.

Placement optimization of Multi-Type fault current limiters based on genetic algorithm

open access: yesGlobal Energy Interconnection, 2021
The fault current limiter (FCL) is an effective measure for improving system stability and suppressing short-circuit fault current. Because of space and economic costs, the optimum placement of FCLs is vital in industrial applications. In this study, two

Control Design for a Power Electronic Based Fault Current Limiter (FCL)

open access: yesRE&PQJ
This paper shows a solution for controlling shortcircuit currents of a power electronic based Fault Current Limiter (FCL). A model for control design of three-phase short-circuit currents will be presented. A way of limiting the maximum aperiodic short-circuit current is derived with special regards to the stability of the entire system.

Plant‐protein supplementation improves thermoregulatory responses and ameliorates markers of intestinal damage during exercise in the heat

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Exercise in the heat often causes gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances, which can impair performance. Single amino acid supplementation can attenuate gut damage and enhance exercise tolerance; however, the effectiveness of innate amino acid blends from plant‐based proteins remains underexplored.

Backbone‐Controlled Ion‐Side Chain Accessibility in Conjugated Polymers for Organic Electrochemical Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 50, 22 June 2026.
Backbone modulation in glycolated conjugated polymers governs ion accessibility to side chains, strengthes anion adsorption, and suppresses back‐diffusion. As the number of thiophene units increases, structural reorganization, retention, and synaptic plasticity are enhanced, leading to improved neuromorphic performance in electrolyte‐gated organic ...

A hybrid h-bridge fault current limiter for HVDC grid protection

open access: yes, 2021
For half-bridge modular multilevel converter (MMC) based HVDC grids, the fast clearance of DC faults can be achieved by DC circuit breakers (DCCBs). The hybrid fault current limiter (FCL) can be used to assist DCCBs for faster interruption less capacity.
