Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Parametric design method and application study of a 160‐kV resistive‐type DCSFCL in a three‐terminal flexible DC transmission system

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2023
The intermittent access of renewable energy sources leads to a significant increase in fault short‐circuit currents in power grid. DC superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL) can limit short‐circuit currents in flexible DC transmission systems ...

Analysis of transient overvoltage in 220 kV saturated core HTS FCL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Saturated Core High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) Fault Current Limiter (FCL) is one kind of limiters that can work effectively on short-circuit current limitation.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Supporting transient stability in future highly distributed power systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Incorporating a substantial volume of microgeneration (consumer-led rather than centrally planed) within a system that is not designed for such a paradigm could lead to conflicts in the operating strategies of the new and existing centralised generation ...

DC fault isolation study of bidirectional dual active bridge DC/DC converter for DC transmission grid application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Fast isolation and detection of DC faults is currently a limiting factor in high power DC transmission grid development. Recent research has shown that the role of DC/DC converters is becoming increasingly important in solving various DC grid challenges ...

Superconducting Fault Current Limiter

open access: yes, 2018
The superconducting fault current limiter concept explains two types of superconducting materials firstly resistive SFCL, Secondly, Inductive-SFCL. We also study some applications of SFCLs which is used to limit the fault - current that occurs in power system.

Thyristor based bridge‐type fault current limiter for fault current limiting capability enhancement

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2016
This study deals with a developed thyristor based bridge‐type fault current limiter (TBFCL), in which the main fault current limiting function is relegated to a limiting circuit controlled by a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR). Since SCR is a reliable power electronic switch and can be found in high ratings, the proposed TBFCL can be utilised in ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Pareto optimal allocation of fault current limiter based on immune algorithm considering cost and mitigation effect

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2017
This paper presents a multi-objective Pareto optimal method for allocation of fault current limiters based on an immune algorithm, which takes into account two objectives of the cost and fault current mitigation effect.
