Constraining the long-term evolution of the slip rate for a major extensional fault system in the central Aegean, Greece, using thermochronology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The brittle/ductile transition is a major rheologic boundary in the crust yet little is known about how or if rates of tectonic processes are influenced by this boundary.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Seismological Studies for Tensile Faults

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2008
A shear slip fault, an equivalence of a double couple source, has often been assumed to be a kinematic source model in ground motion simulation. Estimation of seismic moment based on the shear slip model indicates the size of an earthquake.

Earthquake source parameters of the 2009 Mw 7.8 Fiordland (New Zealand) earthquake from L-band InSAR observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The 2009 MW7.8 Fiordland (New Zealand) earthquake is the largest to have occurred in New Zealand since the 1931 Mw 7.8 Hawke’s Bay earthquake, 1 000 km to the northwest.

PEDOT‐Based Eutectogel Electrode Arrays for Enhanced High‐Resolution Electrogastrography: Fabrication, Stability, and Wearable Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we present a high‐density PEDOT eutectogel electrode array for enhanced body surface gastric mapping. Silver electrodes are blade‐coated onto flexible substrates, followed by electrogelation of PEDOT:PSS and the deposition of a PEDOT:LS eutectogel.

Segmentation characteristics of strike-slip fault zone and its reservoir control mechanisms in the southwestern Tarim Basin

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Understanding how fault-related structures influence oil and gas accumulation is crucial for geological investigations and exploration planning. This study, based on 3D seismic data, analyzes the northeast-trending strike-slip fault zone in the eastern ...

Multiparameter Monitoring and Prevention of Fault-Slip Rock Burst

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2017
Fault-slip rock burst is one type of the tectonic rock burst during mining. A detailed understanding of the precursory information of fault-slip rock burst and implementation of monitoring and early warning systems, as well as pressure relief measures ...

Ambiguity of the Moment Tensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An earthquake on a fault separating two dissimilar materials does not have a well-defined moment density tensor. We present a complete characterization of this bimaterial ambiguity in the general case of slip on a fault in an anisotropic medium.
