A Protocol Using Compact 3D Printed Micro‐Optical Elements for Protein Identification from Low‐Intensity Amino‐Acid Raman Signals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
High speed Raman spectroscopy has various applications, e.g. the sequencing of proteins. However, low signal intensity coincides with the low measurement time. The study presents a protocol using only a small number of sensitive single‐photon detectors measuring optimized spectral regions.

Unidirectional Focusing of Light Using Structured Diffractive Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reciprocal diffractive unidirectional focusing design based on linear and isotropic layers. A set of cascaded diffractive layers is designed using deep learning to achieve efficient forward light focusing while suppressing backward propagation across various illumination angles.

Selective Directional Enhancement in Gold/Perovskite Quantum Dot Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A thin gold layer can selectively enhance the directional radiation of a perovskite quantum dot (QD)1D metasurface by incorporating hybrid plasmonic excitation and redistributing diffraction orders from substrate to cover. The use of template‐assisted self‐assembly techniques enables breakthrough tunability in radiative properties over large areas ...
