Reliability evaluation of gantry cranes based on fault tree analysis and Bayesian network
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2020We proposed a method to evaluate the reliability of gantry cranes and address current shortcomings in reliability evaluations. First, according to gantry crane characteristics, an evaluation system and fault tree model were established.

With the increased use of software in safety critical systems, software safety has become an important factor in system quality. This paper describes a technique, software fault tree analysis, for the safety analysis of software. The technique interfaces with hardware fault tree analysis to allow the safety of the entire system to be maximized ...

Abstract Fault-tree analysis is a graphical technique that identifies all events and combinations of events that can produce an undesired event. This chapter emphasizes several fault-tree analysis concepts, examining with examples how all three categories of charting symbols (events, gates, and transfer symbols) come together to generate

In this chapter, a state-of-the-art review of fault tree analysis is presented. Different forms of fault trees, including static, dynamic, and non-coherent fault trees, their applications and analyses will be discussed. Some advanced topics such as importance analysis, dependent failures, disjoint events, and multistate systems will also be presented.

Fault-Tree Analysis by Fuzzy Probability
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1983In the present approach based on a fuzzy fault-tree model, the maximum possibility of system failure is determined from the possibility of failure of each component within the system according to the extension principle. In calculating the possibility of system failure, some approximation is made for simplicity.

Reliability of products is frequently a prime safety consideration. Interpretation of reliability is both quantitative and qualitative. Extensive quantitative analysis employing probablistic risk assessment has been widely performed to provide predicted hazard or accident minimization.
