Seismic moment tensors for six events in the Minto Flats fault zone, 2012-2016 [PDF]
Using seismic waveform data, we determine seismic moment tensor solutions for six events in the Minto Flats fault zone, 2012-2016.This project was supported by the National Science Foundation, Grant EAR ...

An aseismic slip pulse in northern Chile and along-strike variations in seismogenic behavior [PDF]
We use interferometric synthetic aperture radar, GPS, and seismic observations spanning 5 to 18 years to reveal a detailed kinematic picture of the spatiotemporal evolution of fault slip in a region corresponding to the 30 July 1995 M_w 8.1 subduction ...

This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Metamorphism, argon depletion, heat flow and stress on the Alpine fault [PDF]
The Alpine fault of New Zealand is a major continental transform fault which was uplifted on its southeast side 4 to 11 km within the last 5 m.y. This uplift has exposed the Haast schists, which were metamorphosed from the adjacent Torlesse graywackes ...

Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

Development of fluid pathways and associated diagenetic variations in a natural CO2 leaking fault zone. [PDF]
Permeability within fault zones can vary through time due to repeated deformation events and rock–fluid interactions. Understanding the history of fault zone alteration is critical when building hydrogeologic models and evaluating the risk of mechanical ...

On the evolution of elastic properties during laboratory stick-slip experiments spanning the transition from slow slip to dynamic rupture [PDF]
The physical mechanisms governing slow earthquakes remain unknown, as does the relationship between slow and regular earthquakes. To investigate the mechanism(s) of slow earthquakes and related quasi-dynamic modes of fault slip we performed laboratory ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

The development of the impedance measured by distance relay [PDF]
This paper explains the possibility of implementation of a model of a quadrilateral characteristic type of distance relay with the zones using MATLAB/SIMULINK package. SimPowerSystem was used to present modeling of distance relay.
