Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

GEODYNAMIC ACTIVITY OF THE LITHOSPHERE AND PROBLEMS OF TECTONOPHYSICS – OUTLOOK AFTER 35 YEARS

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
Reviewed are aspects of modern geodynamics and methods of mapping of geodynamic processes which have been developed since 1960s in the Institute of the Earth's Crust, Siberian Branch of RAS (specifically since 1980s by the Laboratory of Tectonophysics ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

TO THE 80TH JUBILEE OF PROFESSOR SEMEN I. SHERMAN

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
The article is devoted to the 80th birthday of Professor Semen I. Sherman, the founder of the Laboratory of Tectonophysics in IEC SB RAS, an expert in faulting, the state of stresses, geodynamic activity and seismicity of the lithosphere, and Deputy ...

Normal fault earthquakes or graviquakes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Earthquakes are dissipation of energy throughout elastic waves. Canonically is the elastic energy accumulated during the interseismic period. However, in crustal extensional settings, gravity is the main energy source for hangingwall fault collapsing ...

Hospital Readmission After Traumatic Brain Injury Hospitalization in Community‐Dwelling Older Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the risk of hospital readmission after an index hospitalization for TBI in older adults. Methods Using data from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, we used propensity score matching of individuals with an index TBI‐related hospitalization to individuals with (1) non‐TBI hospitalizations (primary analysis)

Sesimicity of the Pejibaye-Matina, Costa Rica, region: a strike-slip tectonic boundary? [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2009
Earthquake locations are provided in an effort to determine fault orientations and investigate the existence of a strike-slip tectonic boundary on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. A data set of 121 earthquakes for the 1993 Pejibaye de Turrialba seismic

Observations of stress relaxation before earthquakes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Theory and observations suggest that seismic shear wave splitting, caused by fluid-saturated stress-aligned microcracks, directly monitors low-level deformation before fracturing, faulting and earthquakes occur.

Traumatic Microhemorrhages Are Not Synonymous With Axonal Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is caused by acceleration‐deceleration forces during trauma that shear white matter tracts. Susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) identifies microbleeds that are considered the radiologic hallmark of DAI and are used in clinical prognostication.
