The effects of changing climate on faunal depth distributions determine winners and losers
Changing climate is predicted to impact all depths of the global oceans, yet projections of range shifts in marine faunal distributions in response to changing climate seldom evaluate potential shifts in depth distribution.

The Fauna of Scottish Lochs [PDF]
IN Mr. B. B. Woodward's interesting letter on the occurrence of Pisidium Clessini in Loch Ness (NATURE, August 4, p. 715) he does not mention the depth at which his specimens were found. Loch Ness, in the deeper parts of which Pisidium has been dredged on more than one occasion, is a very deep lake in which different zones of life undoubtedly occur. In

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.

The Fauna of the Magellan Region [PDF]
IN the very interesting review of the “Ergebnisse den Hamburger Magalhaensischen Sammelreise, 1892–3,” in NATURE of November 19 (p. 82), the reviewer refers to “an interesting fresh discovery … of numerous brood pouches (ectodermic invaginations of the body wall) in Condylactis georgiana,” an Antarctic actinian. I have not a copy of the report to hand,

Single‐cell insights into the role of T cells in B‐cell malignancies
Single‐cell technologies have transformed our understanding of T cell–tumor cell interactions in B‐cell malignancies, revealing new T‐cell subsets, functional states, and immune evasion mechanisms. This Review synthesizes these findings, highlighting the roles of T cells in pathogenesis, progression, and therapy response, and underscoring their ...

In the adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) cell line ED, the human T‐cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV‐1) provirus was integrated into the intron of the ift81 gene in the antisense orientation. Despite this integration, both the intact ift81 and the viral oncogene hbz were simultaneously expressed, likely due to the functional insufficiency of viral ...
