Lattice vibrations and structural instability in Cesium near the cubic to tetragonal transition
Under pressure cesium undergoes a transition from a high-pressure fcc phase (Cs-II) to a collapsed fcc phase (Cs-III) near 4.2GPa. At 4.4GPa there follows a transition to the tetragonal Cs-IV phase.

PRAĆENJE SVOJSTAVA FCC KATALIZATORA U RADU FCC JEDINICE
Abstract Maintaining high conversion level in the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process contributes considerably to total refinery profit. The key role in this is that of the catalyst volume, being dosaged daily into the FCC process. Laboratory tests of the samples of equilibrium FCC catalysts from the process are a part of the regular control of the ...

Curvature‐Tuned Friction at Electrified Ionic Liquid Interfaces
Graphene curvature plays a key role in friction electrotunability at single‐asperity contacts lubricated by ionic liquids. A 9 nm radius yields stronger tunability than larger radii, with distinct friction coefficients at low and high loads indicating a shift in the slippage plane.

Scanning electrochemical microscopy reveals reactant diffusion through porous carbon shells to PtFe cores, while the carbon‐encapsulated PtFe enables high‐performance HT‐PEMFC operation by sieving phosphate ions that induce catalyst poisoning. ABSTRACT High‐temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (HT‐PEMFCs) operating at 160°C on phosphoric

Evaluation of Kapton pyrolysis, arc tracking, and flashover on SiO(x)-coated polyimide insulated samples of flat flexible current carriers for Space Station Freedom [PDF]
Kapton polyimide wiring insulation was found to be vulnerable to pyrolization, arc tracking, and flashover when momentary short-circuit arcs have occurred on aircraft power systems.

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.
