Prospects for discovery and spin discrimination of dark matter in Higgs portal DM models and their extensions at 100 TeV $pp$ collider

open access: yes, 2018
We study the discovery and discriminating prospects of the Higgs portal dark matter (DM) models for scalar, fermion and vector DM and their extensions in proton-proton ($pp$) collisions.

Robust and Reversible Thermofluorescence in Solvent‐Free Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermofluorescent polymer composites with high‐contrast optical outputs are prepared by solvent‐free blending of indenoquinacridone dye into a thermoplastic polyurethane matrix. The temperature‐dependent fluorescence originates from aggregation–dissociation of the dye molecules, regulated by competing hydrogen bonds from the polymer matrix.

ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF LAYER THICKNESS ON SURFACE ROUGHNESS OF PLA PRINTED PRODUCTS USING FDM TECHNOLOGY FOR THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

open access: yesScientific Journal of Mechanical Engineering Kinematika
Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, uses various methods, including Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). This study focuses on the surface roughness performance of 3D-printed propellers using FDM with PLA material.

An efficient finite-difference scheme for computation of electron states in free-standing and core-shell quantum wires

open access: yes, 2015
The electron states in axially symmetric quantum wires are computed by means of the effective-mass Schroedinger equation, which is written in cylindrical coordinates phi, rho, and z.

Viscoelasticity‐Induced Controllable Periodic Meso‐Textures of Liquid Crystal Polymers in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

Spatially Tailorable Liquid Crystalline Elastomer Alignment During Digital Light Process 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we report the fabrication of 3D printable liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) structures with spatially tailorable alignment domains within the same layer. This work addresses the long‐standing challenge of preparing complex 3D LCE architectures with patterned functional domains to achieve nonlinear deformations. Fabrication of multi‐domains in 3D

Effective uniqueness of Parry measure and exceptional sets in ergodic theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
It is known that hyperbolic dynamical systems admit a unique invariant probability measure with maximal entropy. We prove an effective version of this statement and use it to estimate an upper bound for Hausdorff dimension of exceptional sets arising ...
