Interleaved FDMA — A New Spread-Spectrum Multiple-Access Scheme

ICC '98. 1998 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record. Affiliated with SUPERCOMM'98 (Cat. No.98CH36220), 1997
A new spread-spectrum multiple-access scheme applicable for both the uplink and the downlink of a mobile radio communications system is proposed, which is termed "interleaved frequency-division multiple-access". This scheme combines the advantages of spread-spectrum and multicarrier transmission.

Message Delays in FDMA and TDMA Communication Channels

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1979
Message delays under a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) scheme and the corresponding Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) scheme are studied and compared. Under a TDMA scheme, a network station is assigned a number of slots for each time frame.

Outage probability in FDMA/TDMA mobile communication networks

European Transactions on Telecommunications, 1994
AbstractOne of the most crucial problems to solve in the field of mobile communication networks is the evaluation for a generic link of the network of the outage probability due to the random characteristics of the transmission system, essentially determined by anomalous propagation conditions, cochannel interference and user mobility.

Orthogonal Pilot Channel Using Combination of FDMA and CDMA in Single-Carrier FDMA-Based Evolved UTRA Uplink

2007 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2007
In the Evolved UTRA (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access) uplink, single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) radio access was adopted owing to its advantageous low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) feature, which leads to wide coverage area provisioning with limited peak transmission power of user equipments.

Handoff Schemes in TDMA/FDMA Systems

2004
This chapter addresses the issue of how to provide seamless hand-off to mobile users, under the constraint of limited resources, in a multimedia wireless network. We adopt the concept of the guard channel (GC) scheme, which gives preferential treatment to the high priority calls, including handoff calls, by reserving a fixed number of channels ...

FDMA system performance with synchronization errors

Proceedings of MILCOM '96 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2002
The effect of time and frequency synchronization errors on the performance of an FDMA communication system using symmetric differential phase shift keying (SDPSK) is considered. Power and bandwidth efficiency of the system versus channel frequency spacing and adjacent channel power imbalance are investigated for the ordinary SDPSK, guard time ...
