Electrolyte Development for Enhancing Sub‐Zero Temperature Performance of Secondary Batteries

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 35, September 4, 2025.
Sub‐zero temperatures severely impact rechargeable battery performance due to electrolyte limitations like sluggish ion diffusion and interface instability. This review examines ion conduction in various electrolytes, analyzes failure mechanisms, and explores recent advancements for low‐temperature operation.

RPDMA: A PAPR-Aware Multiple Access Scheme

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology
This article proposes a novel Multiple Access (MA) scheme called Ramanujan Periodic-subspace Division Multiple Access (RPDMA) for subcarrier sizes $N = 2^{m},\ m\in \mathbb {N}$, to address the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in Orthogonal ...

Long‐Term Changes of Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) Estimated From Weather Stations and Gradient‐Boosted Decision Trees Throughout Japan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 45, Issue 8, 30 June 2025.
From 1980 to 2020, it was found that not only summer heat stress, in terms of the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI), but also winter cold stress has been worsening throughout Japan. Daily maximum UTCI values above which heat stroke cases rapidly increased tend to be relatively low in northern cities.

Sum rates of asynchronous GFDMA and SC-FDMA for 5G uplink

open access: yesICT Express, 2015
The fifth generation (5G) of mobile communication envisions ultralow latency less than 1 ms for radio interface. To this end, frameless asynchronous multiple access may be needed to allow users to transmit instantly without waiting for the next frame ...
