We design and implement FD-Buffer, a buffer manager for database systems running on flash-based disks. Unlike magnetic disks, flash media has an inherent read-write asymmetry: writes involve expensive erase operations and as a result are usually much slower than reads. Therefore, we address this asymmetry in FD-Buffer.

Characterization of a magnetoplasma integrated channel waveguide using FD–FD method
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1998The finite-difference frequency domain (FD-FD) method is used here to study the propagation characteristics of an integrated channel waveguide, consisting of a plasma controlled by a magnetostatic field (magnetoplasma). The dependence relation between the resonance and cyclotron frequency, collision frequency and channel dimensions is shown.

The possibility of deleting a piece of information is very convenient in many programming frameworks. However, this feature is not available in constraint languages such as Constraint Logic Programming or Concurrent Constraint Programming, which allow only for a monotonic accumulation of constraints.

CAN-FD-Sec: Improving Security of CAN-FD Protocol
2019A modern vehicle consists of more than 70 Electronic Control Unit (ECUs) which are responsible for controlling one or more subsystems in the vehicle. These ECUs are interconnected through a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus, which suffers from some limitations of data payload size, bandwidth, and the security issues.
