Energy-conserved splitting FDTD methods for Maxwell’s equations

Numerische Mathematik, 2007
Two new energy-conserved splitting methods (EC-S-FDTDI and EC-S-FDTDII) for Maxwell's equations in two dimensions are proposed. Both algorithms are energy-conserved, unconditionally stable and can be computed efficiently. The convergence results are analyzed based on the energy method, which show that the EC-S-FDTDI scheme is of first order in time and

Pointwise radiator in FDTD method

2010 5th International Confernce on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals, 2010
The veracity of numerical FDTD simulation depends on a large extent on correct realization of the EM field source in the computation scheme. A survey of physical correspondence, simplicity of realization and convergence for several basic types of sources, being widespread in literature on FDTD simulation, is presented in the work.

Computation of Bessel Beams in the FDTD Method

2018 12th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE), 2018
Based on the angular spectrum representation (ASR) of the Bessel beams, Bessel beam sources are generated in three-dimensional FDTD using the total-field/scattered-field (TF/ST) method. The correctness and accuracy of the method are verified by comparing the reconstructed field in FDTD with the original field.

A parameter optimized ADI-FDTD method

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2003
We present a parameter optimized alternating-direction implicit (ADI)-finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. This parameter optimized ADI-FDTD algorithm can minimize the dispersion error for arbitrary incident angles and for different time-step sizes.

A Huygens Subgridding for the FDTD Method

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2006
A new subgridding technique is presented for the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The connection between the grid and the subgrid is realized by means of equivalent currents. The ratio of the steps of the grids can be arbitrarily large, and no significant reflection is produced from the grids interface.

Introduction to the Parallel FDTD Method

2013
The finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method is a numerical technique based on the finite difference concept. It is employed to solve Maxwell's equations for the electric and magnetic field distributions in both the time and spatial domains. The FDTD method utilizes the central difference approximation to discretize two of Maxwell's curl equations ...

Modeling of nonlinear bistability with the FDTD method

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1999
Bistability due to the nonlinearity of an optical material has been studied recently and investigated for its potential high-speed all-optical signal-processing applications. As a result, accurate modeling techniques are required for design purposes. In this paper, the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is applied to the modeling of optical ...
