A new FDTD algorithm - ADI/R-FDTD
2002 3rd International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2003Making use of the two modified finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) methods, that is, ADI-FDTD and R-FDTD, we propose a new time domain method in this paper. The method is established from Maxwell curl and divergence equations. It inherits the advantages of both former methods, i.e., not only eliminating the restraint of the Courant-Friedrich-Levy (C-F-

AbstractIn this paper, the finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD), multiple‐region/FDTD (MR/FDTD) and ray‐tracing/FDTD (RT/FDTD) techniques have been compared with reference to the study of the field scattered by and induced inside an exposed target. The three techniques have been validated on a free‐space radiation problem through a comparison with the ...

Unconditionally stable FDTD method based on Chebyshev polynomials—Chebyshev(CS)FDTD
2021 International Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES-China) Symposium, 2021An unconditionally stable solution using Chebyshev polynomials is proposed for the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The orthogonality and recurrence of Chebyshev polynomials are used to reconstruct the signal, and Chebyshev polynomials differential matrix is established to realize the transformation of time-domain Maxwell's equations to the

A New Multiresolution FDTD Approach Based on the Hybridization of MR-FDTD and DG-FDTD Methods
2007 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2007In this paper, a new multiresolution approach based on the hybridization of the well-known multiple-region FDTD (MR-FDTD) and the new dual-grid FDTD (DG-FDTD) is applied to simulate the transmission between two ultra wide-band (UWB) antennas. The good results for the S parameters as well as the large gain on computational time makes the hybrid MR-FDTD /

FDTD in curvilinear coordinates using a rectangular FDTD formulation
2011 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2011In the simplest formulation, the FDTD algorithm requires that objects follow the rectangular grid. For curved surfaces, this is a severe limitation. In this paper, an approach to modify an existing rectangular FDTD code to model structures more naturally described in another coordinate system is demonstrated.

Comparison between HIE‐FDTD method and ADI‐FDTD method
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2007AbstractThis letter gives the comparison of the 3D hybrid implicit–explicit finite‐difference time‐domain (HIE‐FDTD) method with the ADI‐FDTD method through numerical examples. It shows that the HIE‐FDTD method has higher accuracy than the ADI‐FDTD method, especially for larger rate of field variation; the time step size, which has a detrimental effect
