Accuracy improved ADI‐FDTD methods
International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, 2006AbstractFDTD method plays an important role for simulation of different structures in various fields of engineering, such as RF/microwaves, photonics and VLSI. However, due to the CFL stability constraint, the FDTD time step is still small and the related CPU time is still large for modelling fine geometry where small cell sizes are required to resolve

Multiresolution fdtd with switchable grid
2006 First European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 2006A new multiresolution approach for the FDTD is proposed and applied to an ultra wide-band (UWB) problem. The multiresolution FDTD with switchable grid (SWG-FDTD) splits the simulation along the time into two FDTD schemes with different mesh densities.

Analysis of surrounded antennas: from DG-FDTD to DG-FDTD/IPO
2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA), 2014The paper first discusses the numerical capabilities of the DG-FDTD method. An analytical formulation is proposed to assess the size of the largest possible computational volume. Then, a recently proposed hybrid method, called DG-FDTD/IPO, which extends the DG-FDTD application is presented.

FDTD Analysis of EBG Superstrates
2007 Workshop on Computational Electromagnetics in Time-Domain, 2007AbstractRadiating devices, made up by woodpile electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) material superstrates placed over microstrip patches, are taken in consideration. Much interest is devoted to such antennas because of their enhanced directivity. The radiated far‐field has been calculated using an in‐house finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) code.

Late time growth is a serious defect of the time domain electromagnetic numerical methods. It has been reported in some conformal FDTD numerical codes; and it is also observed in our FDTD/FVTD hybrid numerical code. The paper is devoted to investigations leading to a stabilizing technique to eliminate the late time growth in our FDTD/FDTD or FDTD/FVTD ...

Implementation of ADI-FDTD subgrids in ground penetrating radar FDTD models
Journal of Applied Geophysics, 2009Abstract Realistic numerical modeling of ground penetrating radar (GPR) using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method could greatly benefit from the implementation of subgrids – supporting finer spatial resolution – into the conventional FDTD mesh.

Application of system identification technique to FDTD and FDTD Diakoptics method
23rd European Microwave Conference, 1993, 1993The system identification technique is applied to the FDTD Diakopties method. The computational time and computer storage are significantly reduced. This technique is successfully used in the FDTD Diakoptics simulation of active microwave circuits.

A hybrid FDTD and leapfrog ADI-FDTD method with PML implementation
2011 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2011In this paper, a hybrid FDTD and leapfrog alternating-direction-implicit finite-difference time-domain (ADI-FDTD) method is presented. The perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary conditions are also incorporated in the method and non-uniform grids are deployed to efficiently model electromagnetic radiation and scattering in open domains.
