A New Multiresolution FDTD Approach Based on the Hybridization of MR-FDTD and DG-FDTD Methods
In this paper, a new multiresolution approach based on the hybridization of the well-known multiple-region FDTD (MR-FDTD) and the new dual-grid FDTD (DG-FDTD) is applied to simulate the transmission between two ultra wide-band (UWB) antennas. The good results for the S parameters as well as the large gain on computational time makes the hybrid MR-FDTD /

Combining the FDTD and PSTD methods
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1999Recently, a pseudospectral time-domain (PSTD) algorithm has been developed which needs two points per linear wavelength to achieve the same level of accuracy as the conventional FDTD method if the structure is fairly homogeneous. In contrast, for highly inhomogeneous media, the FDTD is still the method of choice.
