Engineering Hydrogen‐Down Water Configurations for Ampere‐Level Electrochemical CO2 Reduction to Formate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical CO2 reduction (ECR) to formate is a promising route for sustainable chemical production. Herein, we report the synthesis catalysed byBi‐HfO2@C. The AIMD simulations, DFT calculations, and in situ SEIRAS measurements show that the modification of HfO2 on the Bi surface steers the interfacial water to adopt a favorable hydrogen‐down (OH2↓)

Shock consolidation of Fe-based amorphous alloy powder.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy, 1988
Dynamic compaction of Fe-based amorphous alloy powder was performed by using a gun-type momentum trap method. Residual shock effects on the amorphous alloy samples was characterized by microstructural analysis (i.e. optical, SEM, and TEM observations), X-ray diffraction analysis, tensile strength test, and measurement of it's soft magnetic properties ...

Magnetothermal‐Triggered Response and Self‐Healing of Recyclable and Reprocessable Nanocomposites for Actuation Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.

Residual‐Lithium‐to‐LiF Conversion Enables a LiF–Fluorinated Carbon Interphase for Reconstruction‐Resistant Ni‐Rich Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fluorine‐rich acrylate monomer (PFHEA) was solvent‐free applied to NCM90 and thermally decomposed under Ar to convert residual lithium into LiF and form a pre‐built LiF/fluorinated amorphous carbon (LiF/FC) interphase. The LiF/FC layer suppresses NiO rock‐salt reconstruction and microcrack propagation, lowers interfacial resistance, and improves Li ...
