Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of a Premaxillary Device: A New Type of Subperiosteal Implant to Treat Severe Atrophy of the Maxilla

open access: yesBiomimetics, 2023
Extreme atrophy of the maxilla still poses challenges for clinicians. Some of the techniques used to address this issue can be complex, risky, expensive, and time consuming, often requiring skilled surgeons.

ANN- and FEA-Based Assessment Equation for a Corroded Pipeline with a Single Corrosion Defect

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
Most of the standards available for the assessment of the failure pressure of corroded pipelines are limited in their ability to assess complex loadings, and their estimations are conservative.

FEA simulations of Lower Limb Prosthetics

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
Finite element analysis (FEA) is used to study the characteristics of various objects in different working condition for imitating real life like scenarios. The present work describes an overview of FEM simulations for lower limb prosthetics.

Competing Orders in FeAs Layers [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2008
Using the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation and Landau theory we identify possible phases competing with superconductivity in FeAs layers. We find that close to half-filling the transition from the paramagnet to the magnetically ordered phase is first-order making anharmonicities relevant and leading to a rich phase diagram.

Biomechanics in Removable Partial Dentures: A Literature Review of FEA-Based Studies

open access: yesBioMed Research International, 2021
The present study was aimed at reviewing the studies that used finite element analysis (FEA) to estimate the biomechanical stress arising in removable partial dentures (RPDs) and how to optimize it.
