Bioinspired Twisted Artificial Muscles with Enhanced Performance for Underwater Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A climbing plant‐inspired twisted artificial muscle (TAM) with a braided configuration and seal‐inspired thermal insulation enables high‐performance underwater actuation. Enhanced deformation, reduced heat dissipation, and rapid motion are validated through a bionic ray that exhibits straight and turning motions.

Robust Physics‐Informed Neural Network Approach for Estimating Heterogeneous Elastic Properties from Noisy Displacement Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Heterogeneous distributions of elasticity parameters are learned from noisy displacement data using the Inverse Elasticity Physics‐Informed Neural Network (IE‐PINN). This approach integrates both data‐driven and physics‐driven methods to address the significant limitations faced by existing techniques.

Analyzing the Profile Effects of the Various Magnet Shapes in Axial Flux PM Motors by Means of 3D-FEA

open access: yes, 2018
Axial flux machines have positive sides on the power and torque density profile. However, the price of this profile is paid by the torque ripples and irregular magnetic flux density production.

Spatially Resolved Mapping of Voltage‐Gated Proton Channel Activity Reveals Delayed Proton Transport in Local Microenvironments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A revolutionary imaging platform integrating quantitative single‐molecule photobleaching with ratiometric fluorescence probes enables high‐throughput (≈2300 individually resolvable channels) mapping of individual proton channels in a large field (≈3000 µm2), overcoming the spatial and temporal limitations of conventional electrophysiology.

Material‐Gradient Enabled Enhancement of Strength and Strain‐Hardening of Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs material gradients in lattice structures via alloy‐controlled additive manufacturing, decoupling mechanical behavior from geometry. Gradients guide stable plastic fronts, enhancing plateau stress and energy absorption by up to 25.4%.

Determination of the Mechanical Properties of Epoxy Silica Nanocomposites through FEA-Supported Evaluation of Ball Indentation Test Results

open access: yes, 2017
In the present paper a continuous Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation method of the ball indentation hardness test is introduced in order to describe the deformation behavior of nanosilica composites and with this to extract precisely the material's

Synergistic Anti‐Cancer Therapy Through Ultrasound‐Induced Piezocatalytic Therapy and Tumor Treatment Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel, wearable anti‐cancer platform synergistically combines tumor treating fields (TTFs) and piezocatalytic therapy (PCT) via ultrasound‐activated, lead‐free piezocomposites. This strategy efficiently suppresses tumor growth, modulates the immune microenvironment, and demonstrates strong therapeutic synergy in both mouse model of subcutaneous tumor
