Local Polarization Unit Engineering Enables Ultrahigh Energy Density in NBT‐Based High‐Entropy Ceramic Capacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, we demonstrate a breakthrough in dielectric energy storage by engineering local polarization units in high‐entropy multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). The optimized MLCCs achieve an ultrahigh recoverable energy density of 18.2 J cm−3 with 91% efficiency, coupled with exceptional thermal stability and fatigue resistance.

Quantum Photothermal Self‐Monitoring Fiber Probes for In Vivo Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A miniaturized quantum photothermal fiber probe based on a metal/polymer/glass composite optoelectronic fiber that simultaneously guides lightwave and microwave was developed for the first time. The probe achieves enhanced photothermal conversion (13°C/mW, 25°C–120°C range) while providing real‐time self‐monitoring with 0.2°C thermal resolution at the ...

FEA on the Assembly Line [PDF]

open access: yesMechanical Engineering, 1999
Structural and dynamic analyses of a new machining fixture help Porsche AG get production up and running faster. Porsche contracted with KTW Konstruktion Technik K. Weisshaupt GmbH of Friedrichshafen, Germany, to design and produce the fixtures required to hold automobile motor parts in place during drilling and high-precision milling.

FEA-based calculation of the gross and real contact lines.

open access: yes, 2022
The gross contact line length is determined as the length of the line that connects the leftmost and rightmost points in contact. The real contact line length is calculated by summing up the lengths of all contact line segments.

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

In‐Process Magnetization for 3D Printing of Magnetorheological Elastomer with Heterogeneous Magnetic Profile for Anisotropic Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fully programmable, in‐process 3D magnetization integrated with multi‐material printing enables soft magnetic systems with precise actuation and sensing. Discrete and continuous magnetization profiles drive bending, morphing, and locomotion, demonstrated through strain‐sensing elements, dragonfly‐inspired wings, octopus‐like tentacles, and a serpentine

Synergistic Integration of Artificial Merkel Disc and Meissner Corpuscle via Dermal Papillary Structures for Mechanically Filtered Multimodal Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal tactile sensor module that mimics the spatial arrangement and function of Merkel discs and Meissner corpuscles within the human papillary structure operates in a self‐powered manner, responding to both dynamic and static stimuli, achieving tactile perception more similar to human skin.
