Identification of Women with Significant Fear of Childbirth during Late Pregnancy
Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation, 1982An unselected, consecutive series of 139 third-trimester pregnant women was investigated concerning 'fear of delivery'. Two methods to identify women with this sentiment were used independently and on the same occasion; i.e. a personal interview and a questionnaire including statements concerning 'fear of childbirth' to be affirmed or denied.

Israel journal of medical sciences, 1976Within 48 hr of delivery, 200 women were questioned about their fears and anxieties during pregnancy. Fears during pregnancy were reported by 81% of the mothers; 52% reported fears about the birth of a malformed child, 29% about a mentally defective child and 28% about the death of the child.
