Feature detection and tracking for extraction of crowd dynamics

2013 21st Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2013
Extraction of crowd dynamics from video is the fundamental step for automatic detection of abnormal events. However, it is difficult to obtain sufficient performance with object tracking due to occlusions and insufficient resolution of the objects in the scene. As a result, optical flow or feature tracking methods are preferred in crowd videos.

Real-time Detection and Tracking Network with Feature Sharing

2020 IEEE International Conference on Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP), 2020
Multiple object tracking (MOT) systems can benefit many applications, such as autonomous driving, action recognition, and surveillance. State-of-the-art methods detect objects in an image and then use a representation model to connect these objects with existing trajectories.

Facial Feature Detection and Tracking with Automatic Template Selection

7th International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FGR06), 2006
We describe an accurate and robust method of locating facial features. The method utilises a set of feature templates in conjunction with a shape constrained search technique. The current feature templates are correlated with the target image to generate a set of response surfaces.

Feature Enhancement and Coarse-to-Fine Detection for Rgb-D Tracking

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2023
Existing RGB-D tracking algorithms advance the performance by constructing typical appearance models from the RGB-only tracking frameworks. There is no attempt to exploit any complementary visual information from the multi-modal input. This paper addresses this deficit and presents a novel algorithm to boost the performance of RGB-D tracking by taking ...

Detection and Tracking of Facial Features in Video Sequences

2000
This work presents a real time system for detection and tracking of facial features in video sequences. Such system may be used in visual communication applications, such as teleconferencing, virtual reality, intelligent interfaces, human-machine interaction, surveillance, etc.

Multi-feature Detection for Pedestrian Tracking in Traffic Surveillance

2016 9th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Design (ISCID), 2016
Pedestrian tracking is an active research area to improve traffic safety for intelligent video surveillance. This paper proposes an efficient method to automatically detect and track far-away pedestrians in surveillance video using the motion feature extraction and analysis.

Feature Detection and Tracking

2014
This chapter describes the detection of keypoints and the definition of descriptors for those; a keypoint and a descriptor define a feature. The given examples are SIFT, SURF, and ORB, where we introduce BRIEF and FAST for providing ORB. We discuss the invariance of features in general, and of the provided examples in particular.

Visual tracking with re-detection based on feature combination

2018 Tenth International Conference on Advanced Computational Intelligence (ICACI), 2018
An improved visual tracking method is proposed, which combines the image gradient feature and color feature, and uses correlation filter framework to undergo object tracking. This algorithm uses the Bayesian theory to model the color information, integrates gradient feature's correlation filter output and object confidence integral map obtained from ...

Software Feature Request Detection in Issue Tracking Systems

2016 IEEE 24th International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE), 2016
Communication about requirements is often handled in issue tracking systems, especially in a distributed setting. As issue tracking systems also contain bug reports or programming tasks, the software feature requests of the users are often difficult to identify. This paper investigates natural language processing and machine learning features to detect

User-assisted reflection detection and feature point tracking

Proceedings of the 10th European Conference on Visual Media Production, 2013
Reflections in image sequences violate the single layer model used by most current image processing techniques. As a result reflections cause many techniques to fail e.g. detection, tracking, motion estimation, etc. Recent work was proposed by Ahmed et al. [5] to detect reflections. Their technique is robust to pathological motion and motion blur. This
