On the Bayes fusion of visual features [PDF]

open access: yesImage and Vision Computing, 2007
We consider the problem of image classification when more than one visual feature is available. In such cases, Bayes fusion offers an attractive solution by combining the results of different classifiers (one classifier per feature). This is the general form of the so-called ''naive Bayes'' approach.

Inexpensive fusion methods for enhancing feature detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Recent successful approaches to high-level feature detection in image and video data have treated the problem as a pattern classification task. These typically leverage the techniques learned from statistical machine learning, coupled with ensemble ...

Fusion of dynamic and static features for gait recognition over time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Gait recognition aims to identify people at a distance based on the way they walk. This paper deals with a problem of recognition by gait when time-dependent covariates are added, i.e.

Feature-Fusion Guidelines for Image-Based Multi-Modal Biometric Fusion

open access: yesSouth African Computer Journal, 2017
The feature level, unlike the match score level, lacks multi-modal fusion guidelines. This work demonstrates a new approach for improved image-based biometric feature-fusion.
