Linguistic Features of Limbu Mundhum

open access: yesJODEM: Journal of Language and Literature, 2020
This article attempts to look into the kind of language employed in the Mundhum corpus that puts the intricacy to the Limbu natives. To analyze the linguistic aspect of the Mundhum, the study has applied linguistic devices/tools based especially on phonic feature to syntactic structure or pattern.

Electromagnetically Adhering and Self‐Inductive Sensing Claw for Continuum Climbing Robots: Design, Control, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
To argue the applicability of continuum wall‐climbing robots in the nuclear industry, an electromagnetic adhering and self‐inductive sensing integrated claw is developed. The flexible claw realizes an integrated design of the physical structure and excitation circuit. An automatic contact strategy based on fuzzy controller is established, which enables

Dynamic Feature Induction: The Last Gist to the State-of-the-Art

open access: yesNorth American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2016
We introduce a novel technique called dynamic feature induction that keeps inducing high dimensional features automatically until the feature space becomes ‘more’ linearly separable.

Artificial Intelligence‐Enhanced, Closed‐Loop Wearable Systems Toward Next‐Generation Diabetes Management

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Recent advancements in wearable healthcare have brought accessible continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMs) for diabetes management. To address the limitations of CGMs, closed‐loop systems utilizing monitored glucose levels for insulin dosing are being developed.

Convolutional Neural Networks vs. Convolution Kernels: Feature Engineering for Answer Sentence Reranking

open access: yesNorth American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2016
In this paper, we study, compare and combine two state-of-the-art approaches to automatic feature engineering: Convolution Tree Kernels (CTKs) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for learning to rank answer sentences in a Question Answering (QA ...

Assessing Large Multimodal Models for One‐Shot Learning and Interpretability in Biomedical Image Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Image classification plays a pivotal role in biomedical image analysis. Herein, it is shown that large multimodal models, such as GPT‐4, achieve superior performance in one‐shot learning, generalization, interpretability, and text‐driven image classification. Applications span tissue, cell type, cellular state, and disease classification, outperforming

All Mixed Up? Finding the Optimal Feature Set for General Readability Prediction and Its Application to English and Dutch

open access: yesComputational Linguistics, 2016
Readability research has a long and rich tradition, but there has been too little focus on general readability prediction without targeting a specific audience or text genre.

On bootstrapping of linguistic features for bootstrapping grammars [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the EACL 2009 Workshop on Computational Linguistic Aspects of Grammatical Inference - CLAGI '09, 2009
We discuss a cue-based grammar induction approach based on a parallel theory of grammar. Our model is based on the hypotheses of interdependency between linguistic levels (of representation) and inductability of specific structural properties at a particular level, with consequences for the induction of structural properties at other linguistic levels.
