Glottal Source Cepstrum Coefficients Applied to NIST SRE 2010 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Through the present paper, a novel feature set for speaker recognition based on glottal estimate information is presented. An iterative algorithm is used to derive the vocal tract and glottal source estimations from speech signal.

Scattering features for multimodal gait recognition [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP), 2017
We consider the problem of identifying people on the basis of their walk (gait) pattern. Classical approaches to tackle this problem are based on, e.g., video recordings or piezoelectric sensors embedded in the floor. In this work, we rely on acoustic and vibration measurements, obtained from a microphone and a geophone sensor, respectively.

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Anti-collision online early warning method for construction machinery around transmission line

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2022
The transmission line has long transmission distance and complex channel environment.Impacts caused by large construction machinery occur from time to time. The existing anti-collision monitoring scheme of transmission line mainly depends on manual ...

Zero-Shot Recognition using Dual Visual-Semantic Mapping Paths

open access: yes, 2017
Zero-shot recognition aims to accurately recognize objects of unseen classes by using a shared visual-semantic mapping between the image feature space and the semantic embedding space.

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Transformer-based multi-task learning for table tennis motion feature recognition

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
In the process of multi-task sports motion behavior feature recognition, it is prone to be affected by few-shot samples, resulting in catastrophic forgetting phenomena, which leads to poor processing ability of variability.

Novel Tool Design Method for Orbiting Electrical Discharge Machining

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2010
Orbiting EDM has the advantages of superior machining quality over static EDM due to advanced flushing. However, improper tool correction to the relative motion in orbiting EDM will result in dimension errors of the product.

Labeling the Features Not the Samples: Efficient Video Classification with Minimal Supervision

open access: yes, 2015
Feature selection is essential for effective visual recognition. We propose an efficient joint classifier learning and feature selection method that discovers sparse, compact representations of input features from a vast sea of candidates, with an almost

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.
