DeepCCDS: Interpretable Deep Learning Framework for Predicting Cancer Cell Drug Sensitivity through Characterizing Cancer Driver Signals

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Accurate characterization of cellular states is the foundation for precise prediction of drug sensitivity in cancer cell lines, which in turn is fundamental to realizing precision oncology.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Accurate and robust feature-based homography estimation using HALF-SIFT and feature localization error weighting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The goal of homography estimation is to find global transformation between two images of the same scene taken from different viewpoints. The feature-based homography estimation method uses a local feature extractor, a RANSAC-like method and the Levenberg-

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Feature Extraction Without Edge Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Information representation is a critical issue in machine vision. The representation strategy in the primitive stages of a vision system has enormous implications for the performance in subsequent stages.

A Robust Tie-Points Matching Method with Regional Feature Representation for Synthetic Aperture Radar Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The precise tie-points (TPs) on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images are a critical cornerstone in the global digital elevation model (DEM) and digital ortho map (DOM) production process. While there are abundant studies on SAR TPs matching, improvement

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Feature-based designer's intents [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Feature-based modelling is considered an improvement on existing CAD systems. Features are considered to be a medium that carries designer’s intents, but neither features nor designer’s intent have widely accepted definitions.
