Capnocytophaga sputigena bacteremia in a neutropenic host

open access: yesIDCases, 2019
Capnocytophaga species belong to the oral microbiota but are not a common cause of infection in febrile neutropenia. Nevertheless, neutropenia can cause bacteremia associated with mucositis, with lower rates of mortality.

[Febrile neutropenia].

open access: yesLa Revue du praticien, 2004
Chemotherapy-related neutropenia is frequently complicated by infections. In granulocytopenic cancer patients, the early empiric administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics is the cornerstone of the management and has dramatically decreased the infection-related mortality.

Randomized Comparison of Cardiotoxicity With 60 Versus 90 mg Daunorubicin in AML Induction Therapy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
Early cardiac biomarker monitoring in AML induction therapy showed significantly higher hsTnT levels after daunorubicin 90 mg/m2 compared with 60 mg/m2, indicating a dose‐dependent early myocardial effect. ABSTRACT Anthracyclines are an essential component of induction therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but their optimal dosing and the ...

Population pharmacokinetics and dose–response relationships of mitoxantrone in children with acute myeloid leukaemia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background Information on mitoxantrone pharmacokinetics in children is lacking and reduced dosing regimens applied to infants are supported by limited scientific rationale. The current study characterized mitoxantrone pharmacokinetics in a childhood acute myeloid leukaemia patient population and provides a data‐informed assessment of dosing.
