Estructura del alma en el fedro [PDF]

open access: yesCONVIVIUM, 2017

open access: yes, 2014
This paper analyses Phaedrus poetic program. There are, apart from the prologues and epilogues to the several books, a few pieces in which Phaedrus speaks about himself and his art. The following points are discussed: Phaedrus and Aesop; Phaedrus and the fable; particular features of the fabulist's style (“breuitas, uarietas, ueritas”); Phaedrus and ...

Bond of steel reinforcement based on detailed measurements: Results and interpretations

open access: yesStructural Concrete, Volume 24, Issue 6, Page 7173-7204, December 2023., 2023
Abstract Rebar‐to‐concrete bond is a fundamental aspect of the behavior of reinforced concrete structures. The characterization of the interface response is challenging due to the complexity of the physical phenomena and the large number of factors involved.

Potential effect of managing connectivity to contain disease spread among free‐ranging wild boar (Sus scrofa) in disparate landscapes

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 4, Issue 4, October–December 2023., 2023
Analytical framework showing (upper part) how the wild boar networks in Switzerland were established from geographical features, (lower part) their representation as matrices according to (left) the wild boar populations and (right) the biogeographical regions as well as (middle) the states of the networks investigated.

Lymphomas in pregnancy

open access: yesHematological Oncology, Volume 41, Issue S1, Page 70-74, June 2023., 2023
Abstract Lymphoma in pregnancy is an uncommon occurrence. This diagnosis is challenging, and a multidisciplinary team of specialists in obstetrics, anesthesiology, neonatology, hematology psychology should participate in the management of this condition. The choice of treatment regimen depends on the histotype and the gestational age.

A net‐zero Swiss energy system by 2050: Technological and policy options for the transition of the transportation sector

open access: yesFUTURES &FORESIGHT SCIENCE, Volume 4, Issue 3-4, September-December 2022., 2022
Abstract The Swiss government sets out a net‐zero emission goal by 2050 while phasing out nuclear energy. This study presents insights on the transport sector's contribution to meet this goal, in terms of which type of vehicle drivetrains and fuel supply options are cost‐effective? What could be critical for the transition of the transportation sector?

Phylogeography and population genetic structure of the European roe deer in Switzerland following recent recolonization

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 12, Issue 2, February 2022., 2022
After 19th century extirpation, the European roe deer naturally recolonized Switzerland. Using mitochondrial and nuclear DNA markers, we demonstrate that Swiss roe deer had natural, multidirectional immigration from neighboring countries and that there is evidence of weak genetic differentiation within Switzerland among topographic regions. Abstract In

Corroded Tension Chord Model: Load‐deformation behavior of structures with locally corroded reinforcement

open access: yesStructural Concrete, Volume 23, Issue 1, Page 104-120, February 2022., 2022
Abstract Localised corrosion may considerably impair the load‐bearing and deformation capacity of reinforced concrete structures. The Corroded Tension Chord Model allows investigating the related effects. The model combines the effects of tension stiffening and strain localisation due to a local cross‐section loss to calculate the load‐deformation ...

Hydraulics and Turbidity Generation in the Milandre Cave (Switzerland)

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 57, Issue 8, August 2021., 2021
Abstract Karst aquifers may convey significant sediment fluxes, as displayed by the intense turbidity peaks commonly observed at karst springs. The understanding of the origin of the suspended solids discharged at springs is key in assessing spring vulnerability and securing drinking water quality.

Vibrational Sidebands and Kondo-effect in Molecular Transistors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Electron transport through molecular quantum dots coupled to a single vibrational mode is studied in the Kondo regime. We apply a generalized Schrieffer-Wolff transformation to determine the effective low-energy spin-spin-vibron-interaction.
