Bond of steel reinforcement based on detailed measurements: Results and interpretations
Abstract Rebar‐to‐concrete bond is a fundamental aspect of the behavior of reinforced concrete structures. The characterization of the interface response is challenging due to the complexity of the physical phenomena and the large number of factors involved.

Abstract The Swiss government sets out a net‐zero emission goal by 2050 while phasing out nuclear energy. This study presents insights on the transport sector's contribution to meet this goal, in terms of which type of vehicle drivetrains and fuel supply options are cost‐effective? What could be critical for the transition of the transportation sector?

After 19th century extirpation, the European roe deer naturally recolonized Switzerland. Using mitochondrial and nuclear DNA markers, we demonstrate that Swiss roe deer had natural, multidirectional immigration from neighboring countries and that there is evidence of weak genetic differentiation within Switzerland among topographic regions. Abstract In

Abstract Localised corrosion may considerably impair the load‐bearing and deformation capacity of reinforced concrete structures. The Corroded Tension Chord Model allows investigating the related effects. The model combines the effects of tension stiffening and strain localisation due to a local cross‐section loss to calculate the load‐deformation ...

Hydraulics and Turbidity Generation in the Milandre Cave (Switzerland)
Abstract Karst aquifers may convey significant sediment fluxes, as displayed by the intense turbidity peaks commonly observed at karst springs. The understanding of the origin of the suspended solids discharged at springs is key in assessing spring vulnerability and securing drinking water quality.

Vibrational Sidebands and Kondo-effect in Molecular Transistors [PDF]
Electron transport through molecular quantum dots coupled to a single vibrational mode is studied in the Kondo regime. We apply a generalized Schrieffer-Wolff transformation to determine the effective low-energy spin-spin-vibron-interaction.
