Feed Manufacturing Costs and Capital Requirements

1976
Costs were synthesized for 99 model feed plants producing between 6 and 50 tons per hour of size of operation and specialization on feed manufacturing costs. These costs were analyzed to show the effect on costs of such factors as: pelleting, packaging, warehousing and utilization of plants' capacity.

Breast-feeding versus formula: cost comparison.

Hawaii medical journal, 1993
Peterkin and Walker published in 1976 a cost estimate of feeding a baby in the U.S. At that time, they found there was little difference in cost between breast-feeding and formula feeding. Since then, however, the cost of formula has risen drastically--more than 150% during the 1980s.
