Livestock Feed Costs: Concerns and Options [PDF]
Sharply higher feed costs, fueled by competing use demands for corn and soybeans and by rising energy prices, are affecting the beef, pork, dairy, and poultry industries. In contrast, wholesales prices for most animal products have held steady.

Hydrophilic fluorinated copolymers dissolve in chyme and give a strong, single 19F signal, unlike phase‐separating perfluorocarbons. Combined 1H‐19F MRI tracks their whole‐gut transit non‐invasively and without ionizing radiation. In rats, the tracers move through the gastrointestinal tract, resist resorption, and are well tolerated, a proof‐of‐concept

Diabetic wound healing is hindered by a pathological crosstalk wherein elevated IL‐11 induces M1 macrophage polarization, leading to IL‐1β/IL‐6 release and subsequent fibroblast senescence via RAS/p38MAPK/p53/E2F1 signaling. Here, we develop a Gel@M‐Rho microneedle patch that delivers rhoifolin‐loaded, macrophage membrane‐coated nanoparticles to target

Defining the Costs of an Outbreak of Karnal Bunt of Wheat [PDF]
In determining the economic impact of a possible outbreak of the quarantinable wheat disease Karnal Bunt, an examination was made of the detailed components of the costs involved. The costs were classified as: (a) Direct costs (yield and quality losses);

Nutritional Requirements and Economics of Lowering Feed Costs
Feed costs are, and will continue to be, the largest single expense for milk production. Gross efficiency of milk production is greater for high-producing cows because a lower proportion of total feed intake is used for maintenance of the cow. High milk production and high feed intake are positively correlated.
