Design and Performance Evaluation of a Low-Cost Non-Invasive Electromechanical Ventilator With Feedback Mechanism

open access: yesIEEE Access
Non-invasive ventilators (NIV) are widely utilized in managing both acute and chronic respiratory failure. Operating by delivering oxygenated air into the lungs through positive air pressure, they demand vigilant supervision and adjustment to prevent ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

Case studies to enhance online student evaluation: Central Queensland University – The big red button [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Student feedback is imperative to the improvement of courses and teaching. As stated by Harvey, “to make an effective contribution to internal improvement processes, views of students need to be integrated into a regular and continuous cycle of analysis,

Minimum requirements for feedback enhanced force sensing

open access: yes, 2013
The problem of estimating an unknown force driving a linear oscillator is revisited. When using linear measurement, feedback is often cited as a mechanism to enhance bandwidth or sensitivity.

Radiation Pressure Feedback in Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We evaluate radiation pressure from starlight on dust as a feedback mechanism in star-forming galaxies by comparing the luminosity and flux of star-forming systems to the dust Eddington limit.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

An eye in the palm of your hand: alterations in visual processing near the hand, a mini-review

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2016
Feedback within the oculomotor system improves visual processing at eye movement end points, also termed a visual grasp. We do not just view the world around us however; we also reach out and grab things with our hands.

A Blockchain Voting System Based on the Feedback Mechanism and Wilson Score

open access: yesInformation, 2020
A blockchain voting system based on the feedback mechanism and Wilson score is proposed to solve the problem of the malicious votes behavior. Firstly, the relatively accurate supporting rate and ranking for candidates are obtained using the Wilson score.
