Critical street links for demand responsive feeder transit services

Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2013
This paper presents a methodology to identify and locate critical links in a grid street network system for feeder transit services. A 'critical' link can be defined as a link that-when eliminated from or appended to an existing network-would cause the largest change in the network connectivity and consequently in the transit performance.

Clustering distribution feeders in the Arizona Public Service territory

2014 IEEE 40th Photovoltaic Specialist Conference (PVSC), 2014
This paper describes a methodology and approach used to perform clustering on distribution feeders within the service territory of Arizona Public Service (APS). This clustering process was performed in order for APS to characterize the types of feeders in their service territory and to provide a method of feeder classification to inform PV ...

Distribution feeder reconfiguration for service restoration and load balancing

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1997
This paper describes two feeder reconfiguration algorithms for the purpose of service restoration and load balancing in a real-time operation environment. The developed methodologies combine optimization techniques with heuristic rules and fuzzy logic for efficiency and robust performance.

Scheduling of Feeder Vehicles for Intermodal Services for Special Events

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2011
During special events, shuttle services provided by a feeder bus system can be very useful for providing passengers access to the mass rapid transit system, especially passengers in suburban areas where regular transit service is not usually available.

Experiences with diagnostics on complete in-service MV cable feeders

2011 Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC)., 2011
By using an on-line continuous condition monitoring system, many problems in cable connections can be detected before leading to an outage. The system used for the experiments in this paper is capable of detecting and locating weak spots in complete cable feeders, continuously and while the cable remains on-line, by using only two sensors for the ...

The service conditions of feeder heads lined with refractory concrete

Refractories, 1975
The wear of the feeder head lining is the result of its surface layer softening and the synthetic slag reacting chemically with the refractory concrete. Wear is at maximum in the lower part of the lining up to one third of the height of the feeder head.

A Simulation Study to Derive the Optimal Cycle Length for Feeder Transit Services

International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector, 2011
This paper presents a simulation study to evaluate the capacity and the optimum service cycle time of a demand responsive transit “feeder” service within the colonia of El Cenizo, TX. Demand data are taken from a survey questionnaire conducted to evaluate the existing travel patterns and the potential demand for a feeder service.

Analysis of Feeder Service Reliability Using Component Failure Rates

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1987
A computer based method for analysis of electric distribution feeder reliability is developed. The method utilizes component failure rates and feeder configuration in determining values for the reliability measures: Feeder Average Interruption Frequency Index, FAIFI and Feeder Average Interruption Duration Index, FAIDI.

MODELLING REMOTE PARK-AND-RIDE WITH FEEDER BUS SERVICES

2019
The overall aim of this thesis is to propose a systematic methodology framework of P&R schemes, especially the remote P&R, to better understand, analyse, and improve the P&R services. The proposed methodology framework is expected to support the sustainable development of urban transport systems.
