Feedforward compensation of integrated optic modulator distortion

Optical Fiber Communication, 1990
Optical fiber communication systems having a linear transfer characteristic are of interest for rf to millimeter wave applications. Among these is the distribution of amplitude modulated cable television signals. In that application typically 40-60 channels in the frequency range of 50-500 MHz are multiplexed for transmission, which consequently places

Simple tuning rules for feedforward compensators

Journal of Process Control, 2011
This paper describes new simple tuning rules for design of feedforward compensators. The problem of feedforward from load disturbances is analyzed, and it is shown that the feedback controller should be taken into account in the feedforward design process.

Feedforward compensation of exercise in diabetes

18th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, MED'10, 2010
A nonlinear feedforward action based on the detection of exercise intensity is designed to prevent drastic blood glucose drops that may lead a diabetic patient to hypoglycemia. A physiological model is derived from the Bergman and the Sorensen models and the metabolic effects of physical activity.

Optimal feedforward compensators for integrating plants

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2014
Abstract This paper addresses the design of feedforward compensators for integrating processes. Initially, the disturbance rejection problem for a classic two degrees-of-freedom control scheme with feedfoward is analyzed to highlight the problem caused by integrating dynamics.

Feedforward Compensation for PID Control Loops

2012
This chapter presents methodologies for the design of feedforward control actions to be employed together with feedback PID controllers. Both set-point following and load disturbance rejection tasks will be considered. Regarding the set-point following task, after having presented the standard two-degree-of-freedom control scheme, the design of a ...

Adaptive Feedforward Compensation of Disturbances

2011
Adaptive feedforward broadband vibration (or noise) compensation is currently used when an image (a correlated measurement) of the disturbance is available. However, in most of the systems there is a “positive” feedback coupling, between the compensator system and the measurement of the image of the disturbances, which cannot be ignored.
