Optimizing Metamaterial Inverse Design with 3D Conditional Diffusion Model and Data Augmentation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A generative AI model, the 3D conditional diffusion model (3D‐CDM), is introduced to enhance the inverse design of voxel‐based metamaterials. A data augmentation technique based on topological perturbation expands the dataset, further improving generation quality and accuracy.

Hidden in Plain Sight: Exploring the Intersections of Mental Health, Eating Disorders, and Content Moderation on TikTok [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Social media platforms actively moderate content glorifying harmful behaviors like eating disorders, which include anorexia and bulimia. However, users have adapted to evade moderation by using coded hashtags. Our study investigates the prevalence of moderation evaders on the popular social media platform TikTok and contrasts their use and emotional ...

CHILDHOOD OBESITY: GLOBAL ISSUES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The eating disorders are a group of situations which are very complex that include abnormal feeding patterns, too much worry about the physical aspect, no real perception of the body image and a strong link between all these factors and the levels of ...

Optimized Growth and Manipulation of Light–Matter Interaction in Stabilized Halide Perovskite Nanowire Array

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates CsPbBr3 nanowire (NW) array synthesis and stability using nanoporous anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) templates. Simulations identify optimal pore geometries for light–matter interactions (LMI). The ligand‐free modified inverse temperature crystallization (ITC) method is utilized for NW array growth, providing insights into a broad

Large Language Models Help Reveal Unhealthy Diet and Body Concerns in Online Eating Disorders Communities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Eating disorders (ED), a severe mental health condition with high rates of mortality and morbidity, affect millions of people globally, especially adolescents. The proliferation of online communities that promote and normalize ED has been linked to this public health crisis.

Chemical AI in the Limelight: The Contribution of Photochromic Materials and Oscillatory Chemical Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Photochromic compounds are versatile ingredients for the development of Chemical AI. When they are embedded in a tight microenvironment, they become Markov blankets. They are also valuable for processing Boolean and Fuzzy logic. They contribute to neuromorphic engineering in wetware based on opto‐chemical signals exchanged with oscillatory chemical ...

Functional Optical Fibers with Tailored Side Emission from Modified Rod‐in‐Tube Preforms

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A modified rod‐in‐tube method enables fabrication of functional optical fibers with tailored light‐diffusing properties. The approach incorporates optically active species at a well‐defined radial position within an otherwise homogeneous fiber core. Using lanthanide ions and noble metal nanoparticles as active species demonstrates wavelength conversion
